When thinking of going to buy new fishing tackle, which fishing gear would you choose? Perhaps you simply go out and buy the costliest, thinking that the dearest would have to be the best or would you choose the least expensive in the hope this would do the job anyhow.
Personally when I'm buying new fishing apparatus I ask fishermen mates and then I search the Internet for independent reviews of any particular item I am after.
i remember when platted fishing line became major news, I hadn't got a clue about platted line at all, I asked all of my friends and it seemed that nobody at the time was using it.
Before the internet came along it was really a matter of trial and blunder when it came to buying fishing tackle, of course we had the fishing magazines but this was all right if and when they were reviewing a piece of fishing tackle you needed at the time.
I still have lots of old fishing tackle that was purchased many years back, fishing tackle that I could just not get on with, it used to be a particularly costly time.
Occasionally when buying new tackle it proves to be a pricey mistake, some new equipment just doesn't measure up to my expectations.
Now we have online auction sites, so purchasing some fishing tackle is not such a risk any more at least I'll sell items I don't need now.
With the Net comes more competition for sellers of top spec fishing tackle, this is a massive and for anglers. Dealers are so desperate to get a sale from you they will regularly reduce costs to beat another dealer to a sale. Particularly on online auction sites, prices on there change such a lot, Some dealers are so cheap compared with other sellers, it makes you believe how they make a profit.
the Net isn't such a bad place, not for a keen competitive angler anyway.
