Set up a WIFI network

Well, if you have all sorts of Wi-Fi enabled instruments and do not have a router. Still, you can even setup a wireless network even without a router. This is possible if your Desktop PC has a wireless network adapter. A wireless network adapter is also known as an internal data card. IF your PC has that then you can definitely setup a wireless without a router. Well desktop user can also use an external wireless adapter. These are also known as USB network adapters. This you can insert in the USB port of your PC.

Once you are ready with all the basic requirements in hand then you can create a wireless network without a router. Here is how? For Windows XP and Vista users, if you have Vista or Windows Xp on your system then read ahead. Now if the main PC at home has an internet connection already. Then you can setup a network what is called as "ad-hoc" Wi-Fi network. In this all the other instruments, which are Wi-Fi capacity can also gain an access to the network. The ad-hoc network actually is computer to computer network. Provided you have a Windows Xp, Vista, or Mac OS X.

It is an easy method to set up the PC-to-PC network using Vista. All you have to do is that go to the Network and Sharing center from the control panel. Select "Setup a Connection or network option" and then choose "Set-up a wireless ad-hoc network" Later save this connection made by choosing "Save this network" option. Otherwise the ad-hoc network won't be established. Then you will have to turn on the internet sharing in the next screen prompted by the application. This will enable all the gadgets to connect to this network. (Note: setting up an ad-hoc network in Xp is a bit tedious. It includes more steps).

Well, if you have Windows 7, then all you have to do is convert it to a personal Wi-Fi spot. There is no need to configure anything. Along with Windows 7 you will need software called Virtual Router. A virtual router can be activated by simply running the program and assigning it a password. All the instruments are accepted. You can click the stop outer option to dismantle the network and close the internet sharing.
